Heads up

February 18, 2010

So out of our neighborhood of 40 houses 6 have been broken into in the last 6 months. The jerks apparently kick in the front door in the middle of the day, grab whatever they see and leave before the police arrive. Even homes with alarm systems are still getting screwed because they jerks are gone within 10 minutes. On Tuesday of this week the jerks hit the house next to ours. As most of you know, Mike and I were burglarized at the last place we lived and so this situation is close to home. Mike and I are being smart and we are going to take additional measures to protect our home. We do have an alarm system but of course, an alarm is only good once the crime has already happened. So to keep anyone from even attempting to kick in our door we are installing door frame reinforcement kits. The reinforcement kit consist of a metal frame reinforcement that extends 5 feet and is anchored to the studs of your frame with long screws. Professionals say “Installing this door frame reinforcement kit is the best protection I have seen on the market today to help prevent thieves and invaders from kicking in your door.” The kit we choose was $100 and super easy to install and I totally completely suggest all of you install one. Better to spend $100 now rather than after you have been burglarized.
Home burglary statistics:
American homes are victims of burglary about every 15 seconds, according to the U.S. Department of Justice
FBI statistics show 70% of all break-ins are from door-frame failure.
A loud TV or radio can be a better deterrent than the best alarm system.

The FBI says every 12 seconds a home is invaded by going right through the front or back door.
