So I am preparing for a cruise and as usual I have become vacation addicted just before actually leaving for the vacation. I discovered a forum about cruises and I have succeeded in wasting many hours reading the posts. The most interesting post yet has to do with one of my favorite things, alcohol. Cruise ship drinks are the most expensive drinks ever but since its on vacation people usually have no problem paying. There are a few brave people that have tried to beat the system and bring drinks onboard and their methods are quite interesting. Some people take the soda out of a case and replace with beer. Of course they only end up with a quantity of 12 or 24 beers that will only last them like 1 or 2 days. Other people, my grandparents included, just pack a bag of wine and go right on through with no problems. As expected some go as far as filling water, mouthwash and even shampoo bottles with liquor (YUCK). On the forum is where I discovered the most amazing way to beat the system. People of all ages will buy a set of rum runners to sneak liquor on board. The website is advertises use to “Sneak Alcohol on Cruise Ships”. What will they think of next?!?
Disclaimer: Mike and I have never and do not plan to sneak alcohol onboard (although I would kinda like to try bringing champagne or wine but Mike said no).
